Out of the 25, the first 20 burned perfectly. I was thinking to myself, why are all the other reviewers rating this down? Then the last 5 all turned out to be coasters. I made sure that it wasn't my settings that caused the failure, or that my drive became defective (I subsequently burned a DVD+R DL disc from another manufacturer successfully), so the last 5 must have truly been bad. I lowered the speed to 2x and then 1x, but still the same result. (I had been burning at 4x.) All the burn errors occurred about 40% of the way in, basically toward the end of the first layer.
A 20% failure rate might not seem high compared to the other reviewers (some reporting over 50% or even 100%), but I seem to be chronically lucky with not getting coasters in general because this is the highest rate I have seen for any spindle of optical media. In my history of burning 500+ CD/DVD discs, I have only burned 7 coasters that were not a result of user error, 2 of which were from a 50-pack of DVD-Rs and 5 here.
My discs have code RITEK-S04-66. This means that the discs were not made by Memorex, but by Ritek, which is notorious for its junk media. Buy Verbatim DVD+R DL discs which are actually made by Verbatim in Singapore. They're significantly more expensive, but give you more value per disc as well as peace of mind. (Note: If all you want is a writable DVD and don't care about DL, then the best brand is Taiyo Yuden, also known as JVC/Taiyo Yuden, which is made in Japan.)

Bought these to burn Xbox back ups to and they work perfectly. No quality difference between them and verbatime just make sure you burn with correct settings.

Burnt nine of these discs (4 of which were coasters), all from different parts of the stack, at 2x speed in IMGburn. Will not play back in any of my 4 360's. Works fine when I burnt a data disc and played back in my PC, so seems to be an issue with the way these discs are inked, having too much resistance for the console laser to read properly. Not quite a failure on the product, but definitely unusable for my needs.
